Rob and Zoe
Husband and wife management team Rob and Zoe Walsh met in Loughborough, where Rob was studying Automotive Engineering at the university and Zoe was studying Jewellery Design and Silversmithing at the art college.
After successfully completing his studies, Rob moved to London where he had accepted a job with the Metropolitan Police Service as an engineer working initially in evaluation, specification and testing of their fleet of vehicles. Zoe moved down the following year after completing her degree and accepted a position in the Hatton Garden jewellery quarter and they purchased a house together. After a couple of years Rob transferred with the MPS, working instead on armoured vehicles and other physical protection items such as the Met Vest body armour.
After about 6 years they decided London was not for them and following a brief time out living the simple life in Scotland (and a marriage!) they moved again and joined Zoeβs family business, York Plastics.
Having developed the CAD and CNC side of the business and following the retirement of Zoeβs parents, Rob now runs the business as MD and Zoe divides her time between home, running the office and lending a hand in the workshop.
They have two daughters, three dogs and busy lives! When they can steal a moment for themselves, they can usually be found on a beach somewhere either walking, swimming, paddleboarding or kayaking.
Rob
Rob started with us as a 16 year old apprentice back in 1991! Rob grabbed every opportunity he could to learn his trade and soon developed a niche when CAD and CNC machines were introduced to the company. Over the years Rob has developed immense experience in working with a wide range of plastic materials and has therefore become the Workshop Manager. Unfortunately for Rob this does tend to mean he gets the more difficult and awkward jobs.
Married and Dad of 2, in his spare time Rob likes to get away to the coast with the family or to tinker with his Mini.

Toby
Toby joined the team in 2012 as an apprentice. Toby won Apprentice of the Year whilst completing his qualifications and soon became at home operating our CNC lathes and machining centres. Toby is also our First Aider as well as a qualified PAT Tester.
Toby divides his own time between playing around with his NG TC kit car and renovating his 1930βs home with his girlfriend.
Jeremy
Jeremy joined us in 2015 and successfully completed his apprenticeship 4 years later. Following in Tobyβs footsteps Jeremy also won an Apprentice of the Year award. Jeremy is our specialist for CNC Router work. He has also recently taken on the Health and Safety Co-ordinator role for the company.
Jeremy is also our resident practical joker; he can often be found telling jokes or hiding things around the workshop.
In his spare time Jeremy is currently extending his first home with his girlfriend.

Dougie
Dougie is our most recent addition and has just successfully completed his apprenticeship. Despite having his training interrupted by COVID, Dougie has excelled and has become our third consecutive apprentice to win Apprentice of the Year awards. Dougie has taken to the job like a duck to water, he is now taking on more and more CNC router work and is our go-to guy for laser cutting.
In his own time, Dougie plays football for his local team, he is also currently restoring a 1992 Mini and he is a keen runner and regularly takes part in races with his girlfriend.
